Fun, fun, fun. They come from all over the globe: iron doo-hickies and rattles from West Africa, claves and guira from Cuba, assorted boingy things from the West and naturally a kemanak (onomatopoeically known to us as a "woo-woo") from Indonesia. Collectively or individually the noisemakers help expand the rhythm, accentuate the melody and introduce new and exotic sounds. Basically they are the something-for-everyone instruments.
